ABOUT WATTLE PUZZLE HELPERS

A little help when you’re stuck.

Wattle Puzzle Helpers is an independent collection of straightforward helpers for the puzzles people play every day.

What is a wattle?

Wattles are trees and shrubs in the Acacia genus, recognised for their soft foliage and clusters of bright flowers. They are found throughout Australia, and the Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) is Australia’s national floral emblem. Our name is a small nod to that familiar Australian plant. Learn more about wattles from the Australian National Botanic Gardens.

Our approach

Good puzzle help should make the next move clearer without taking the satisfaction away. Wattle Puzzle Helpers gives you a way to organise the clues you already have, then shows possibilities you can decide between yourself.

Three ways to find your next word

The word finder matches known positions and letter clues. The word unscrambler makes words from a fixed set of tiles. The Spelling Bee helper finds words using seven letters and a required centre letter, with hints before answers. None retrieves a daily answer.

Read our dictionary sources and matching rules for the source revisions, licences and limits of the suggestions.

Your clues stay on your device

Puzzle clues are processed in your browser and are not sent to Wattle Puzzle Helpers. Your word length and clues are saved on this device so you can return after refreshing. Use Clear these clues to keep the current word length, or New puzzle to clear your clues and reset to 5 letters. You can find more detail in our privacy policy.

Independent and unaffiliated

Wattle Puzzle Helpers is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The New York Times or any of the puzzle publishers whose games people may use with these helpers.
