Choose the word length

Set the slider to the number of letters in the puzzle you are playing. It runs from 4 to 10 letters and starts at 5.

Known letters

Put a letter in the box where you know its exact position. The boxes and results update to your selected length, and the letter is added to Must include automatically.

Must include

Add letters that are somewhere in the word when you do not know their position. Repeat a letter when you know it appears twice.

Cannot include

Add letters you know are not in the word.

Example: in a six-letter puzzle, for A in position 1, P in position 2, R somewhere in the word, and no S, L, or N: choose 6 letters, enter A and P in the first two boxes, R in Must include, and SLN in Cannot include.

Match the puzzle length first

Set the helper to the puzzle’s word length before entering clues. It supports words from 4 to 10 letters, with 5 selected by default.

Start with useful coverage

Choose a real word of the right length with common vowels and consonants. Favour different letters early when the puzzle allows it.

Read every tile precisely

Green fixes a letter in place. Yellow means it belongs elsewhere. Grey usually rules a letter out, but repeated letters need extra care.

Test the remaining unknowns

Keep confirmed letters, then use your next guess to test positions or letters you have not settled yet.

Choose among the finalists

When several words fit, try a word that checks the letters that separate them. When every clue points to one candidate, make that guess.

This helper works only from the clues you enter. It does not retrieve, know, or reveal a daily answer.

Match the puzzle length

Choose the same word length as your puzzle before adding clues. The helper only shows words of that selected length.

Known positions

Put the letter in every box whose position you know. For example, enter E in positions 2 and 4 when both are fixed. The helper adds both copies to Must include.

Known count, unknown positions

If you know a letter appears twice but not where, type it twice in Must include, such as EE. The helper will show only words of the selected length with at least two Es.

Only include what is confirmed

If you only know one copy of a letter is present, enter it once. Add another copy only when your clues confirm that the word has two.

Do not put a letter in Cannot include if it appears in Known letters or Must include, even when another copy is not part of the answer.

Check the word length

Make sure the slider matches the puzzle. The helper only searches words with the selected number of letters.

Look for conflicting clues

A letter cannot be in Known letters or Must include and also appear in Cannot include. Remove the conflicting clue and try again.

Relax one uncertain clue

When every clue looks right, remove the clue you are least sure about, search again, then add it back if needed.

Use Clear these clues to empty the form and enter only the feedback you have confirmed.

The helper searches a general dictionary, so it may not include every accepted word in every game.
