5-LETTER WORD FINDER
Start with five letter boxes, then add the letters you know. The finder narrows a local dictionary to words that match without spoiling a daily puzzle.
Clear keeps the length. New puzzle resets to 5 letters.
Add at least one clue to see matching words.
Common-list words come first. Within each group, words covering letters found in more of the remaining matches rank higher; fixed letters do not add to the score. This is a useful-guess guide, not the probability of an answer. Each game uses its own accepted word list.
Tap a word to copy it.
Suggestions come from a general dictionary and do not retrieve or reveal a daily answer. About our dictionary.
SPELLING BEE HELPER
Enter the centre letter and the six outer letters from the board you are playing.
CONNECTIONS HELPER
Type one word into each tile, or paste a comma- or line-separated list into any tile.
A match is a prompt to think, not confirmation that it is one of the intended groups.
STRANDS HELPER
Enter each row of the grid on a new line. The finder looks for dictionary words through touching letters.
This finder does not know the theme, spangram, or official word set.
SUDOKU HELPER
Paste nine rows of nine digits. Use 0 or . for an empty square.
EXPLORE HELPERS
Use known positions and letter clues to find words from four to ten letters.
Put letters with confirmed positions in the matching boxes. Put letters that are elsewhere in the word in Must include, and rule out letters with Cannot include. If your final letter is E, start with the 5-letter words ending in E finder and add your remaining clues.
This five-letter finder supports the familiar format while keeping the answer in your hands. It suggests matching words from your clues rather than looking up any daily solution.
The same word finder supports four to ten letters. Change the length slider whenever the puzzle you are playing uses a different-sized answer.
For a five-letter word beginning with A and ending with E, fill the first and last Known letters boxes. If your clues confirm two Ps, enter PP in Must include. APPLE fits those clues.
Repeating P in Must include asks for at least two copies. Do not put P in Cannot include just because an extra P was grey.
These are illustrative clues, not a daily puzzle answer. Each game decides which words it accepts.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
This page starts with 5 positions. Fill confirmed letters and leave unknown positions empty. Add required or excluded letters to narrow the matches. New puzzle restores the 5-letter preset.
Use Letter counts to set a minimum or maximum number of copies. A known position fixes one copy in that position; it does not rule out another copy elsewhere. Wrong positions lets you exclude a letter from a particular position.
No. It filters a dictionary using the clues you enter. The familiar five-letter group comes from a fixed historical list, not a live daily-answer feed. A suggested word is not a confirmed answer.
Each game chooses its own accepted-word list. These helpers use a general English dictionary that includes uncommon words, so a match is not a guarantee that your game accepts it.
