Help & strategy

Possible word suggestions —

Add at least one clue to see matching words.

How are words ordered?

Common-list words come first. Within each group, words covering letters found in more of the remaining matches rank higher; fixed letters do not add to the score. This is a useful-guess guide, not the probability of an answer. Each game uses its own accepted word list.

Suggestions come from a general dictionary and do not retrieve or reveal a daily answer. About our dictionary.

STRANDS HELPER

Search the letters you can see.

Enter each row of the grid on a new line. The finder looks for dictionary words through touching letters.

SUDOKU HELPER

Check a grid or solve it.

Paste nine rows of nine digits. Use 0 or . for an empty square.

Start with the known position

A is already set in the first box. Add any other fixed letters, required letters, or exclusions to focus the results on your puzzle.

More than a static word list

A pattern alone can have many matches. The live finder lets you use the rest of your clues to reach a useful shortlist.

Change the pattern any time

Clear or change the first box, then adjust the word length if your game does not use five-letter answers.

Example: narrow an A word

Keep A in the first Known letters box. If the last two positions are L and E, add them in boxes four and five, then put G in Must include. ANGLE fits the resulting A _ _ L E pattern.

Use only confirmed positions. Knowing that a word contains G does not, by itself, tell you which box to put it in.

These are illustrative clues, not a daily puzzle answer. Each game decides which words it accepts.

Using the word helper

Example: in a six-letter puzzle, for A in position 1, P in position 2, R somewhere in the word, and no S, L, or N: choose 6 letters, enter A and P in the first two boxes, R in Must include, and SLN in Cannot include.

Word-game strategy guide

This helper works only from the clues you enter. It does not retrieve, know, or reveal a daily answer.

Repeated letters

Do not put a letter in Cannot include if it appears in Known letters or Must include, even when another copy is not part of the answer.

Why no results?

The helper searches a general dictionary, so it may not include every accepted word in every game.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

A little more guidance.

How do I find a 5-letter word with missing letters?

This page starts with 5 positions. Fill confirmed letters and leave unknown positions empty. Add required or excluded letters to narrow the matches. New puzzle restores the 5-letter preset.

How do repeated letters work in the word finder?

Use Letter counts to set a minimum or maximum number of copies. A known position fixes one copy in that position; it does not rule out another copy elsewhere. Wrong positions lets you exclude a letter from a particular position.

Does the Wordle helper know today’s answer?

No. It filters a dictionary using the clues you enter. The familiar five-letter group comes from a fixed historical list, not a live daily-answer feed. A suggested word is not a confirmed answer.

Why might my game reject a suggested word?

Each game chooses its own accepted-word list. These helpers use a general English dictionary that includes uncommon words, so a match is not a guarantee that your game accepts it.
