Help & strategy

Possible word suggestions

Add at least one clue to see matching words.

How are words ordered?

Common-list words come first. Within each group, words covering letters found in more of the remaining matches rank higher; fixed letters do not add to the score. This is a useful-guess guide, not the probability of an answer. Each game uses its own accepted word list.

Suggestions come from a general dictionary and do not retrieve or reveal a daily answer. About our dictionary.

Using the word helper

Example: in a six-letter puzzle, for A in position 1, P in position 2, R somewhere in the word, and no S, L, or N: choose 6 letters, enter A and P in the first two boxes, R in Must include, and SLN in Cannot include.

Word-game strategy guide

This helper works only from the clues you enter. It does not retrieve, know, or reveal a daily answer.

Repeated letters

Do not put a letter in Cannot include if it appears in Known letters or Must include, even when another copy is not part of the answer.

Why no results?

The helper searches a general dictionary, so it may not include every accepted word in every game.
